*updated* Since this post­ing there has been major Earthquakes in Japan, Chile and in the US. Just today here are the stats for earth­quakes that have taken place:

Whether you are a reli­gious per­son or not you have to acknowl­edge that Jesus’ words at Matthew 24:7 that there will be “…earth­quakes in one place after another,” are being ful­filled. We are indeed liv­ing in what the Bible refers to as the last days. I will be doing a series of posts that show fur­ther evi­dence of this. Having this knowl­edge, and if you truly believe this, how will your life reflect it?*

Today’s news of the 7.0 Earthquake in Haiti is very sad. My prayers go out to the peo­ple in that region as well as those who have friends or fam­ily mem­bers who have been affected. When I heard the news, nat­u­rally I thought about the scrip­ture at Matthew 24:7.

Somewhere in the world at all times there is usu­ally an earth­quake occur­ring. Even yes­ter­day there was a 2.8 earth­quake in Oklahoma of all places.

While read­ing the news of the Haiti quake I came across this site — Earthquakes​.usgs​.gov –that charts the earth­quakes from around the world​.It also shows how to pre­pare for an earth­quake and how to report one. There is also a sec­tion to help edu­cate kids through inter­ac­tive games and stats.

Sadly, the earth­quake in Haiti has not been the first and will not be the last. Even those of us who feel like we aren’t in an area prone to earth­quakes can ben­e­fit from being pre­pared in the even that it does occur.
