“Hope” is the thing with feathers: My theme for 2010 and beyond

2010. A new year. A new time. A new era. For this new phase in my life I am going to allow my hope to guide me towards my goals. See the big pic­ture. Accept the past and embrace the future. Emily Dickinson said “‘Hope’ is the thing with feath­ers”. That means it is not seden­tary. It is mobile. It can fly. When we let it. Let’s allow our hopes to lift us to the place that makes the impos­si­ble pos­si­ble.

Hope is the thing with feath­ers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune with­out the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweet­est in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the lit­tle bird
That kept so many warm.
