HTML-aphobia

Here’s the deal. I do not understand HTML (HyperText Markup Language-didn’t even know what it stood for). It just looks like gibberish to me. The fact that I was able to add any HTML widgets to this blog still amazes me (thanks to cut-n-paste codes). My reaction to my success can only be equated to cavemen discovering fire.

When I began to read about freelancing, several books had sections on HTML, but I figured that I wouldn’t really need it. I realize now that knowing some HTML language is vital. As a new writer-unless you left a lucrative career to freelance or you know somebody-you don’t have the money to shell out to a designer to create a webpage or blog for you.

That’s where the Internet again proves itself as a valuable resource for any writer.

Many websites such as HTML Code Tutorial and HTML Goodies have helped me so much.

I’m still very nervous about using HTML-I had a bad experience where code was showing up on my blog-but I will in time become more confident thanks to the web.

My next goal: Figuring out how to indent these dang paragraphs!

Thanks for reading,

Literary Nobody
